Poem 29 of 35

Starchild

You came to me from a distant world of light,

singing beyond the shadow of a star as I wandered the night.

I see it in your eyes and feel it in your voice,

bound to me though you were given a choice.

Your spirit's radiant glow

holds my hand if I attempt to run or go.

My little blossom, starchild of a dozen trees of might,

cultivating from the sun, with breath to take flight.

I remember now—or perhaps it remains a feeling—

before we were spirits drifting through space without a ceiling.

Written in the pages long before, shipped by He,

and twilight's smile inspired by She.

A loving mother,

with infinite love and luminous light we call Father.

Now a part of that eternal light rests with you,

my dearest star, who loves with her eyes when I'm feeling blue.

Dearest child of my heart, a star bright, yet one eternal round.

I write it for truth, for truth has become sound.
