Poem 28 of 35

Deeper

Deeper beyond light and sorrow.

Deeper than the traveling heart with song.

Deeper across a sky with painted clouds.

Further than the dreaming moon.

Sunlight traces back to yesterday's boon.

Deeper than space, with the echo of a bell.

Quieter beyond the silence of night.

Brighter than carved ash, with the flame to offer flight.

Our shadow touched by the drifting prelude.

Fears travel, but never beyond the depth of our shadow.

Deeper than the hand of lightning, touching the hearts still.

We are spirits of light,

our destiny to fulfill.
