Poem 21 of 35

Drum Beat Tide

Welcome to the drum beat tide.

Fears of the heart turn left as I search wide.

A new day's born from the dust of Tuesday's tears.

Dust in my steps, a thought no one hears.

Embers are born; fires arise.

The hero's forge has crafted a spark.

Time winds the coils

as dreams shift to park.

A ringing bell; the earth calls.

Her hearth and drum beat now stand tall.

Flowers stretch forth

as a leaf holds its breath.

Silver light folds over the tree,

a memory in sand.

But memories fade;

they too can be heard in the wind.

A shift as I pass by your grave.

Words are light to a seed,

words meant to save.

Zion, a place of thought,

a place to reflect.

Starlight with darkness to detect.

The tide rises;

the drum beat quickens.

Words inspire the seed;

a stem looks to the light.

Water runs swift;

the seed blends the night.

Arise and come.

Our Swanson has arrived.

Come and arise;

the dawn has blinked.

The seed has survived.
