Poem 12 of 35

Circles of Thought

The tide washes my thought upon the shore;

waves gather behind to crash.

The sullen wind blows.

Moonlight harmonizes

long before her light holds its breath.

The anticipation of rays

warming the space between a kiss.

Dreams circle to thought,

a heartbeat the sun would miss.

Imagine if the world spun

on the brim of our page,

to count the numbers falling down

to grow with age.

A song, a hymn, a prayer

planted in the seed.

Imagine that beneath the path of light,

drifting through eternity

to reach us in what we need.

Rain falls to earth,

another circle for your thought.

Pages turn the wind;

the heart heats the land.

Fire and ash.

Embers scorch our sight.

Eyes of midnight turn blind

from the flame of yesterday's might.

A breath withheld.

A story to unfold;

pages look toward dusk.

Wisdom now turns to green.

Roses become violet

with sunflowers giving oxygen to the unseen.

Circle of thought.

Circle of truth.

Circle of time.

Tomorrow rebounds the heart:

a circle at the start.
