Poem 31 of 35
The Other Side
The other side of the glass holds a promise from before.
How can I help dreams reach the northern shore?
The breaking waves race across the frozen sand.
It's as far as they can reach, with winds to guide my hand.
Dreams may come as hopes do grow.
Sow fire in your heart with embers that glow.
Winds travel and mend.
A lifting spirit—I'll be your friend.
A star is born within your glassy eye.
Life reflects truth under the velvet sky.
I can only look and nurture that smile,
to shed a tear.
Songs of delight.
Thoughts listen all the while.
Soften my heart,
if only for a start.
Skip a beat as our time tries to hide.
I'll lift the fire and spark the path on the other side.
