Poem 35 of 35
Living Bread
Trees crawl upon the sovereign ground,
chasing sunlight with leaves dancing around.
A fox calls from beyond yesterday's touch.
The graveyard shifts; for me, it's a bit too much.
I can recall you holding up my written page.
Feelings pour out to reveal my age.
Ink runs down the shadow of the sun to sound the alarm.
Worry not, but take care of your dreams.
I promise you no harm.
Fleeting thoughts keep spinning around my head.
Stars relate to the shadow and songs once shed.
You held a thought one summer ago.
The mountainside calls as lightning strikes the snow.
My heart now races toward the distant glow.
Living water takes shape as it might.
Flow of the eventide.
Spread forth to the edge of autumn as leaves seek flight.
Living bread beneath the eastern shore.
Living bread, it's enough; I'll go now and explore.
