Poem 33 of 35
Colors
All around us, painting a memory.
One with sea, one of sound.
Yet my troubles write the tale of what was found.
Flocking to the moonlight, a shadow beyond the grave.
Whispers from the fountain encourage the spirits to behave.
Can I have an orange slice,
for a taste once, and maybe twice?
A melody from the wind that you bottled in a jar.
Let the dancing ghost become my heart when you are afar.
Tracing toward the sun of the lazy dawn.
The moon howls to the colors resting on the lawn.
Be soft and random as the creeping tide.
Stories unfold as depression and anxiety collide.
Where could my apple pie be?
Has winter stolen it away to be free?
Snap, crackle, and pop.
Splurging at Target for a working heart to shop.
On the edges of my pen,
tomorrow unfolds; I'll awaken and begin.
